On your next drive through town, you are sure to pass many custom signs carved by Chatham native John Proudfoot. In his 30 years of experience, John's signs are found on many local business locations.  He is an expert at truck lettering and generously donates his talent to local departments. With a true sense of integrity and respect, John tends carefully to restoring treasured old signs and quarterboards. Although he is self-taught as a sign carver, much of his understanding and skill came under the watchful eye of his father, Edwin Proudfoot, a master wood craftsman. John Proudfoot has served on the Chatham Fire Dept. for 23 years. He has a landscape and parking lot striping business, and makes himself available as a Constable and Notary Public.

Greg Johnson studied art at Ohio Wesleyan and the University of New Hampshire, but he is largely self-taught as a painter.  The inspiration for his work comes from many sources, including family and aquatic muralist Bob Wyland.  Greg also gives motivational credit to the years he has spent as a Nauset Beach lifeguard, where whale and marine life sightings are an everyday occurance.  Greg's paintings are included in collections in the U.S. and in Europe.  His work is displayed in galleries, private homes, libraries, banks, coffee shops, and business offices.  Greg was chosen to paint a 40 x 8 foot mural for the newly renovated YMCA in San Diego, CA.
